Food & Other Supplies
On site
The Coach House cafe will be open from roughly 8 am to 7 pm daily from Thursday through Sunday. Join us for a Rishneen (snack), Drigheen (little drink) or Enteete (nap in the middle of the day). Now you are a local and know some Yola words, the ancient language of Forth and Bargy baronies.
For meals below you need to order and pay ahead. After you make your event reservation you can order your meals via the link that will be provided on Monday 12 April. It is possible there may be a few extra meals available on the day but we cannot guarantee this. We are cooking the same plan for our household and guests. If you want to be sure of a meal, reserve and pay in advance. There is a limit of 50 food orders per day. Orders are not refundable, but if you cannot come you can give to someone else (let the Coach House staff know).
The Coach House will offer a la cart purchase of hot and cold beverages and cafe snacks (e.g., cakes, scones, etc) between meal times and people can walk in. Cash and electronic payment are accepted.
Cafe and meal guests are invited to eat indoors in the Coach House or outdoors in the nearby seating areas. Outside of meal times general event attendees are welcome to use the seating with preference always to cafe customers. Please bring your own feast gear if possible. Dishwashing is in the campsite. If you want warm oatmeal, you need to bring a microwave-safe bowl. The Coach House food will only be seasoned/spiced in a minimal way - food will be flavorful but not “spicy” or very salty - add your own! This menu is basically the same as last year, but streamlined for daily prep. Gluten free options available and let the Coach House know of allergies in your notes as you make the booking. Please add your SCA name too.

In the neighbourhood
Centra grocery store at the Killinick Top Oil petrol/gas station (c. 7 mins drive away) has a hot counter (chicken, sausages, fries, hot breakfast items etc) and a sandwich counter, as well as a coffee machine, if you wish to buy inexpensive ready made food. Here you can also buy basic grocery supplies as well as fuel for your car. There is also a laundromat outside the store, in case you need to wash and dry clothes/sheets/etc during or immediately after the event. Additionally, there are waste disposal and recycling banks.
Meyler’s Millhouse Bar & Restaurant is the closest pub/restaurant about 2 mins drive away, which serves the usual alcoholic drinks as well as delicious sit-down/takeout food. The event team will try to have some menus available on site.
Karoo Farmshop & Cafe in Killinick is a specialty food store. They serve breakfast and lunch, and we have heard that they are good, but we haven’t managed to find a free table there yet!
Further pubs, takeaways and cafes are available in Wexford town and Rosslare.
Wexford town has all the usual supermarkets (SuperValu, Tesco, ALDI, Lidl), pharmacies, as well as a convenient hardware store (Woodie’s in Wexford Retail Park). In Ireland, alcohol can be purchased in grocery stores, at petrol/gas stations and in “off-licences” (liquor stores) during specific hours (Monday to Saturday from 10:30am to 10:00pm; Sundays from 12:30pm to 10:00 pm). You need to be over 18 to buy and be served alcohol legally.
